Description
I know what your saying about the Wilson trade and how crazy it could be but just think about...both teams need adjustments and Wilson playing with Bergy having him protect him at all costs would be amazing....I think the value is there with Hall, Grzy, 1st round, AND Lysell for both Wilson and Fehervary but let me know what you think.

I could definitely be wrong but I think the team massively overvalues Wilson and they don't want to move him.

I also don't think the caps are really interested in futures (they should be), so its kind of Hall and Grzelcyk for Wilson and Marty.

Wilson and Marty are cheaper and the drop off in play isn't huge (of course im also biased so)

Hall seems like a downgrade from Wilson at this point, and the organization loves Wilson and the adjustments they need to make are largely along the lines of adding *more* players like him who play a complete game. I fully expect the Caps to extend him this summer.

Grz is redundant with Sandin now on the roster, so from a roster construction standpoint Fehervary is a better fit for the Caps' blueline.

The 1st in 2025 doesn't help the Caps to stay competitive while Ovie's still playing, which is what they're focusing on right now.

Lysell seems like a nice piece (I really don't know much about him), but I don't think he's worth the downgrades elsewhere.

the org places a lot of value on wilson, they won't move him without a massive overpay and this isn't. I'll give Fehervary and Gryz being a wash, even though the age difference would probably mean otherwise. I think the value placed by the league on Hall is declining, and with Boston's cap troubles I also don't see him as a significant piece in this deal (I have seen many Bruins ACGMs giving him away for a 2nd and 3rd, for example and the Bjorkstrand deal last summer is imo a good comp).

That leaves basically Wilson for Lysell and a 25 1st. Lysell is a great piece and had a good rookie pro season for Providence, but (like McMichael, Lapierre, Miro) isn't a can't miss prospect and probably isn't ready to play in the NHL next year. the 25 1st -- especially if unprotected -- is also a good piece but doesn't really help Washington this year.

Basically, they have the cap space and assets to add someone like Hall without making significant changes to the roster, probably could use Fehervary more than Gryz. To trade Wilson this summer, it would take either an insane amount of futures (that Boston just doesn't have) or a massive improvement to the roster (think Marner).
