If the Jets have the choice between one year of Scheifele who might extend and one year of DeBrusk who won't extend, they'd take keeping Scheifele 100 times out of 100.

But what's the odds Scheifele wants to stay? Personally I would like him to stay, just needs to adjust the mindset from ME to TEAM and become the leader the Jets envisioned him to be.

I actually think there is a fairly high chance that Scheifele resigns. Whether his attitude towards defense will change or not is hard to say.

If the Jets do trade Scheifele, they'll look for young pieces with lots of team control, not a rental.

Calgary wouldn't do that and Scheifele will go to a US team.
