Not enough for Marner without an extension, if there was a extension in place I don't think Vegas would have the assets to get Marner

Never mind the Marner trade......an impractical 20 man roster, no 7th NHL Dman, and do really think Kampf has Ducks on his trade list.

Easy to create 750-800k by trimming on UFA deals to make room for an extra skater

If Marner wanted to go to Vegas and Vegas wanted Marner, with an extension in place, I think the more fair trade would be William Karlsson and Shea Theodore for Marner. The salary exchange also works far better.

Truthfully, and I am sure this will be contentious, but I think it is more difficult to find a goalie that works with your team's system than a player, especially a 2C and top-6 (Karlsson) then can essentially replace JT. Thompson has had spurts of brilliance, and normalcy, during his NHL career as well as his fair share of injuries. I'd rather see the Leafs take a mulligan on an Antony Solarz for a couple years or take a 1-year deal of Cam Talbot. And especially if Marner plus extension are being dealt here, I think he's worth more as an asset than just Theodore and Thompson if I am being honest.
