as for turtlemountain, I understand, but in the end this is just a what if they do and the justification is that Colorado won't be able to play with 2 lines next year if they don't do some overhauling to get able bodies in their lineup. They literally have 12 contracts signed, and just 9.7M$ to add 10-11 more guys. Unless you want 30-39 year old guys at the end of their careers or guys that are completely off their rockers unable to keep decent stats (I'm not talking just point here, there are other stats that make a player than points) then yes, they'll sign 11 guy at 800K$ but will have 3/4 of a team that are unable to win.
As far being just three depth pieces, well.. Like I say in the explanation AVS play out to get depth players as they need room for Mittelstadt, They'll also need to move one of their defensemen as Toews contract kicks in... Do you guys actually think that AVS have cap space to keep MacKinnon, Rantanen, Mittelstadt, Makar, Girard, Manson, Toews, and Georgiev thinking that other teams will call them and say "yeah I'll help you out, I'll take any contract you need and give you very good value back! That's because in this league, we all help each in the love, help and respect triangle we sow!"..
LMAO! VGK had to give players away for nothing to get some space back.
If Colorado wants space, they'll need to provide and even pay.
By the way, funniest thing I read was " COL gives up the best player and best pick in the trade" from the other guy... Best pick of the trade.. They have a late pick and anyone who knows anything about hockey know that picks 25 to 50 can be a toss up depending on your needs. Right now, depth players is what AVS will need if they are to go at it again next year and years after that. Getting 3 picks for one that late isn't bad, heck replace my 2025 3rd round pick (VAN) with the 2025 2nd round pick (PIT) and it would still be viable for the HABS and provide assets for AVS.
