Did you read? The trade has nothing to do with goalies, but I get you may not know hockey.

Vilardi ain't worth that first for the sabres. He is 24 and has never played a full season.

Unless Winnipeg believed they were getting a better player than Valardi with that pick... and even at that... they decide they're going to be less competitive next year... this won't happen.

Replacing Vilardi with Krebs isn't going to improve their team next year, and that pick would only improve it in 3 years.

For value this is close, but Winnipeg is currently in their cup window and don’t want to close it, so this trade is a fantasy. Ofc I’m assuming Krebs has top 6 potential.
