Tbh I think Lou would be all over it, he loves players with cup pedigree and Toronto badly needed a DFD at that time.

Lmao what? The leafs weren’t trading a young budding superstar for a 26 year old dman who was coming off of a 15 point season.

Going into the 2017-2018 season the leafs thought they had a solid group of DFD in Hainsey, Zaitsev and Polak

                          this is so unrealistic.
It's not even worth going past the EDM trade that was never going to happen.

While this team did make mistakes after the 2nd cup, those were more due to an arrogant coach who's head got sooooo big because Crosby and crew dragged him along on a cup.

The team fell apart at the trading of the defense and Kessel. Both Sully chased out.
That's all there really is to it.
Not only did he chase good players out the room, but he also lost the room.
The boldest move they could have made, was to side with the players and not Sully and fired him.
The team would have been better off.
But hey, we will all get to see how poor a team USA hockey will be with Sully as coach.
