MBN would probably be one of the better fits for NJ honestly. Good potential, 6’1 but big, NHL ready. Could make a lot of sense

Me too. Roy is probably got 2nd line potential. Not worth giving that type of guy to move up 1 pick

If there is no vote soon, Random number. If they was 1 player I voted for, I would have taken the other player, but in this case, I didn’t vote for either

In general, doesn’t seem like Hughes is the guy to just overpay. I think he stands his ground, and if a team wants Hughes to overpay, the trade would fall through

That might lowkey be more than what MIN got for Fiala, and he was clearly worth more than Necas is. (We can’t forget Faber was just a decent prospect at the time, probably had the value of a late 1st)

If Lindstrom didn't have the back injury concerns, then Lindstrom no doubt. If Lindstrom and Iginla are available at 5 and MTL pick Iggy, I completely understand why

Or, they add on top of Necas straight up, and get the upgrade him in the same trade. (Maybe a little Marner idea here lol)

MTL do that trade if they aren't targeting Iginla (let's say it was Sennecke). If they absolutely want Iggy, they'll take him. As it looks right now, it seems strongly possible they really want him ngl (And I'm all for it!)

It's a tough call. He can't really get a bridge either.
I say the best solution is let CAR keep him, and they can manage their own issues. We already have so much current and future top 6 pieces, he isn't a big upgrade at all.

Recently, he's been in the 1st round of most to all the people who know the prospects more than just the top 15. He's been rising, and rightfully so. Some great skill sets on that guy. He's 13th on my board right now. Overlooked only because he is slightly undersized

Don't think they go Yak honestly. He's clearly not the best D on the board, and they don't really have a bunch of LDs, so Buium will be the pick if they go for D. However, they go legitimately go for any forward I put on the poll, and they would all be decent to good picks imo.

2023 and 2024
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>At NCAA level, Fantilli hit levels that we didn’t see much of from Celebrini, where he would take over games. I probably watched 12-15 games for both of them. Celebrini was better on power play. I am no draft expert, but I know college hockey pretty well. Where they go in pros, time will tell.
I think over time we will have a good idea on the top guys. It’s my belief that the top group of guys from 2023 goes a good 30-35 guys deep whereas 2024 only appears about 12-15 guys before drop off. 2023 was really deep.
Among dmen, I think the two drafts are very comparable. But last years crop of forwards was particularly strong.</div></div>
Imo, 2023 has a better top 4 then 2024, but overall, the 2024 is better in the 5 to 16 range. The 2023 may be better for the end of the 1st round, but way less than may say.
If we wanna compare the 5 to 16 range, assuming 1 to 4 this year is Celebrini, Demidov, Lev, Lindstrom
Iginla > Reinbacher
Silayev = Simashev
Parekh < Michkov
Dickinson > Leonard
Buium > Danielson
Catton = Dvorsky
Yakemchuk < Willander
Sennecke = But
Helenius < Benson
Eiserman > Yager
MBN > Wood
Jiricek > Honzek
And the D class this year is much better, with Reinbacher and Simashev being 3 to 6 in this years class

2023 was much stronger draft. 2024 is one of the weaker and thinner pools.</div></div>
Yeah, strongly disagree.
1st off: Celebrini is most definitely in the tier with Fants and Leo.
Celebrini basically has the offense of Fantilli and the defense of Carlsson. The only thing is he is missing 2 inches, but that really doesn’t matter too much
2nd: Demidov is easily along Michkov, and imo, the talent gap is so tiny, that taking in the character and KHL contract length, I easily take Demidov
Dvorsky shouldn’t be near those names, definitely under guys like Lindstrom and Iginla
Its honestly weird people find this draft weak. Looking at each players individual, it is a hell of a draft, with the most top line ceilings I’ve since, even more than 2023
I understand some of the top line ceiling guys from this year don’t necessarily have the floor of the 2023 guys, but its not the case for everyone, a lot still have great floors and ceilings

All I'll say is, there is a reason we are on Cap Friendly and not in a suit managing an NHL team. In general, it is best to trust what managements do
