Teams trying to contend won't retain. I want them to rebuild, but the owner won't allow it

Drouin is a FA, why do you want to include him in the deal, just sign him. I don't think the Habs would be interested in spending a mid 1st on a goalie and 4th though.

I blame the GM. Bonehead Brad made sure they can't rebuild by signing a bunch of older players to big long term contracts. The Markstrom contract is bad enough but signing Huberdeau for 8 years at 10.5 AAV is worse. 9 mil sure fine but 8x10.5 is too much for a winger who's going to be 30 soon.

Shoulda just flipped Huberdeau if he wouldn't sign for 9 mil or less AAV. The Weegar contract is fine though, he actually signed for 250k less than I thought it would take.

Anyhow this summer Looch's contract is off the books. IMO it's time to move on from more older players to open up a few spots Ruzicka, Dueher, Pelletier, Coronato, Zary and Wolf can compete for.

I just think that Markstrom should go, its 6M for a 33 year old

Bonehead trade. This is horrid for the fLames. And I hate them so idk why I am doing this...

1. Marky has a NMC and his will for sure not waive for Montreal.
2. This is a disgustingly hilarious underpayment for 50% retained Marky.
3. Caphit is a UFA and is pretty much a bottom 6 guy now At best a middle 6.
4. Calgary isn't rebuilding... They may do a retool, shake up.
